What happens if my product needs repairs?

If you suspect that your product needs mechanical repairs , contact your Motability dealer as soon as possible. Repairs and servicing that are required due to every day use will be covered at no cost to you (except if there is evidence of neglect or misuse). Your Motability dealer will contact you when the product is due for a scheduled service.

The RSA Motability loss and damage insurance policy only covers non cosmetic repairs (those affecting the safe and normal operation of the product). If you opt to repair cosmetic damage this will need to be done at your own cost.

Can I fit winter tyres or snow chains?

If you live in a remote area or somewhere that regularly experiences extreme weather conditions you could consider having snow tyres, chains or socks fitted to your Motability car. However, this will be at your own cost and you must contact our Customer Services team to discuss this before arranging fitting.

Please ensure that the driving conditions are safe for you to make your return journey before setting out and ensure that you follow the manufacturer's instructions for the product.

What happens if the car fails its MOT?

Cars needs to pass their MOTs before the car is handed back. If it fails the MOT, the issue that has caused the failure would need to be rectified and the car would need to be re-tested at the dealership.

Will tyres be replaced 'like for like'?

Kwik-Fit will provide tyres that match the specifications of the tyres currently on the car, this may not be the same brand. If there are any issues or concerns, please contact the Kwik-Fit Motability Tyreline . If for any reason they are unable to help you, then please contact our Customer Services team

What is the legal limit for tyre tread?

The legal limit for tyre tread is 1.6mm on 75% of the contact surface, if there are any doubts about this, take your car to your local Kwik-Fit who will advise if the tyres need changing.

Should I clean my car before handing it back?

We recognise that all cars will show wear and tear with use and in most cases we don't require repairs to be done. To find out if repairs are needed, please contact RSA Motability who will advise what to do. Please do not attempt to 'touch up' the paintwork with various pens or aerosols on the market as this could damage the paintwork.

Am I covered for damage to the interior of the car?

Your insurance policy does not cover loss or damage to trim and upholstery in the car, unless this arises as a result of an accident which requires bodywork repair and or mechanical repairs.

Where do I get the MOT done?

Your Motability dealer should contact you to book your

MOT

towards the end of your agreement, if you have any concerns, please give them a call. The cost of the MOT is included in your worry-free Contract Hire lease (including where a lease has been extended). Remember, you will need to have an MOT completed before you hand the car back at the end of the agreement.
