One Big Day at Donington Park in Derby provides the perfect opportunity to discover everything you need to know about worry-free motoring with Motability.

The event will host the UK’s largest display of vehicles available through the Motability Scheme, including:

On arrival you’ll be given a token that you can exchange for a free tea, coffee or soft drink and there will be a range of hot and cold food available to purchase.

Free mobility scooter and wheelchair loan
We have a limited number of scooters and manual wheelchairs available to borrow free of charge, these must be booked in advance. To book a scooter or wheelchair you need to complete our request form on the 'contact us' tab.
What's at the event for kids?
There will be a children’s entertainment area with free face painting, free balloon modelling and much more. Plus, you'll get the chance to meet Billy the Motability Bear!
Only assistance dogs are permitted at the events. Unfortunately no other dogs or pets are allowed. Please do not leave dogs in your car while you attend the event.
Test drive adapted and non adapted cars at One Big Day!
You can test drive adapted and non-adapted cars, both as a driver or passenger to see which ones best suit your needs. The adapted cars are fitted with a wide range of different adaptations – hand controls, steering wheel balls, electronic brakes, left foot accelerators etc. Full details of what’s fitted to individual cars will be available soon.
We have professional driving instructors that will accompany you on your test drive to help make you feel as safe as possible.
Unfortunately it is not possible to test drive Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, however, there will be lots to see, experts on hand to answer your questions and you can arrange a home demonstration for a later date.
To avoid disappointment please ensure you bring your full driving licence (including the paper counterpart) if you want to test drive any cars. You will also be unable to take a test drive if you have more than three penalty points on your licence.
To book a test drive, simply visit the test drive booking desk at the event, where your driving licence will be checked and your booking confirmed.
What cars can I test drive?
We want to make sure that all of our visitors have a fantastic day at our events, that's why we do our best to make it as accessible and inclusive as possible.
Fully accessible venue
All areas of the venue and event are fully accessible to both scooters and wheelchairs.
We provide a large number of fully accessible toilets along with a toilets equipped with adult and child changing facilities.
Plenty of free accessible parking with shuttle service
There is lots of free accessible parking alongside the venue, take a look at the 'parking' tab for more information.
Friendly staff on hand to help
Our staff have one goal and that is to make sure you have a great experience at our event. If you need any assistance just ask one of the team, they will be more than happy to help you.
Assistance dogs welcome
Assistance dogs are welcome at the event, however any other dogs or pets are not allowed. Please do not leave your dogs in your car while you attend the event.

From North (M1/A50)
- Leave the M1 at junction 24, then at the roundabout take the fourth exit onto the A453 (signposted Tamworth, Birmingham)
- At the roundabout take the second exit onto the A453 (signposted East Midlands Airport, Diseworth, Donington Park)
- Go past the Donington Park Service Area (MOTO).
- At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A453.
- At the next roundabout take the first exit onto the A453, go past the airport, and finally turn right into Donington Park.
From South (M1/M42/A42)
- Leave the M1 at junction 23a, then merge onto the A42 (signposted Stoke A50)
- At roundabout take the second exit onto the A453 (signposted East Midlands Airport, Diseworth, Donington Park)
- Go past Donington Park Service Area (MOTO)
- At roundabout take the first exit onto the A453
- At next roundabout take the first exit onto the A453.
- At next roundabout take the first exit onto the A453, go past the Airport, and finally turn right into Donington Park.
For those arriving via the A42, follow signs onto the A453 at Tongue.
The nearest train station to Donington Park is East Midlands Parkway, through which East Midlands TrainsOpens in new window operate a regular service.
National Express CoachesOpens in new window offer coaches to East Midlands Airport. Coaches frequently go from Derby, Loughborough, London Victoria coach station and other national destinations.
We want to make sure that every visitor to One Big Day has a fantastic time and we know that accessible parking is one of the most important things. That's why we do as much as as we can to make sure you can park as easily as possible and get to the event entrance without any fuss.

Golf buggy car park service
We provide a golf buggy service all day to help you get from the car park to the main entrance. If you would like to take advantage of this service just look out for the pick up points dotted around or speak to one of our friendly welcome hosts in the car park.
Car park welcome hosts
Our welcome hosts are there to help you with any issues you may have in the car park. From giving you a hand unloading your scooter to helping you to the entrance with an umbrella, or just having a friendly chat, they are there to help. You can't miss our hosts as they will be wearing bright yellow coats. If you need any help, just ask!

What time does the event start and finish?
The event opens at 9am and finishes at 4pm.

How much does it cost to get in?
Our events are totally free to attend.
Do I have to book tickets?
There's no need to book tickets, simply turn up on the day.
Do I need to pre-book my test drive?
We do not offer the option to pre-book test drives. These are offered on a first come, first served basis. Take a look at our test drive section for more information.
I have lost the invitation I received in the post, do I need it?
If you received an invitation in the post and you have misplaced it, don't worry! You don't need it to get into the event and you can simply complete a new prize draw form if you want to enter the draw.
