One Big Day at Glow, Bluewater in Kent provides the perfect opportunity to discover everything you need to know about worry-free motoring with Motability. There is a huge range of cars, adaptations, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, scooters and powered wheelchairs on display and what's more, admission is free!

One Big Day at Glow, Bluewater offers you the chance to see a large range of vehicles for disabled people. It provides the perfect opportunity to discover everything you need to know about worry-free motoring with Motability.

We've pulled together some handy information to help you plan your visit to One Big Day at Glow, Bluewater.

Opening times

Tuesday 8 July 2014 - Doors open 9am, event closes 4pm.

Free refreshments

On arrival you’ll be given a token that you can exchange for a free tea, coffee or soft drink and there will be a range of hot and cold food available to purchase.

Event layout

The majority of displays at One Big Day will be indoors. To help you plan your day we will provide an event layout to download soon.

Free mobility scooter and wheelchair loan

We have a limited number of scooters and manual wheelchairs available to borrow free of charge - these must be booked in advance. To book a scooter or wheelchair you need to complete our request form which can be found in the 'contact us' tab.

What's at the event for kids?

There will be a children’s entertainment area with free face painting, free balloon modelling and much more. Plus,  you'll get the chance to meet Billy the Motability Bear!

Dogs

Only assistance dogs are permitted at the events. Unfortunately no other dogs or pets are allowed. Please do not leave dogs in your car while you attend the event.

Test drive adapted and non adapted cars at One Big Day!

You can test drive adapted and non-adapted cars, both as a driver or passenger to see which ones best suit your needs. The adapted cars are fitted with a wide range of different adaptations – hand controls, steering wheel balls, electronic brakes, left foot accelerators. Full details of what’s fitted to individual cars will be available soon.

We have professional driving instructors that will accompany you on your test drive to help make you feel as safe as possible.

Unfortunately it is not possible to test drive Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, however, there will be lots to see, experts on hand to answer your questions and you can arrange a home demonstration for a later date.

To avoid disappointment please ensure you bring your full driving licence (including the paper counterpart) if you want to test drive any cars. You will also be unable to take a test drive if you have more than three penalty points on your licence.

To book a test drive, simply visit the test drive booking desk at the event, where your driving licence will be checked and your booking confirmed.

We want to make sure that all of our visitors have a fantastic day at our event, that's why we do our best to make it as accessible and inclusive as possible.

Fully accessible venue

All areas of the venue and event are fully accessible to both scooters and wheelchairs.

Accessible toilets

We provide a large number of fully accessible toilets along with toilets equipped with adult and child changing facilities.

Plenty of free accessible parking with golf buggy service

There is lots of free accessible parking alongside the venue, take a look at the 'parking' tab for more information.

Friendly staff on hand to help

Our staff have one goal and that is to make sure you have a great experience at our event.  If you need any assistance just ask one of the team, they will be more than happy to help you.

Assistance dogs welcome

Assistance dogs are welcome at the event, however any other dogs or pets are not allowed.  Please do not leave your dogs in your car while you attend the event.

Venue address

By car

The event will be well sign posted, look for the AA signs.

  • If you have a SATNAV, just enter the postcode DA9 9SG and the directions will guide you to Bluewater. Then follow the signs for ‘One Big Day’ and ‘Glow’
  • Alternatively, from the M25, follow signs to Dartford Crossing. Look out for Junction 2 (A2/M2), then follow the signs for ‘One Big Day’ and ‘Glow’

By train

  • Hop on the UK’s first high speed train service from St Pancras and get to Ebbsfleet in just 18 minutes. From there, you can take a Fastrack bus to Bluewater. Plan your journey online with National Rail EnquiriesOpens in new window or Transport for LondonOpens in new window
  • South Eastern Trains arrive at Greenhithe station every 15 minutes from London (Charing Cross, Waterloo East, London Bridge or Cannon Street) and other Medway towns. Then you can take a Fastrack A or B bus to Bluewater, just five minutes away – this should be included in the price of your train ticket.

Shuttle buses run from 6am to 11.45pm, 7 days a week from the bus stop next to the ticket machines on your right, as you leave the station. 

By bus

Take your pick from over 60 buses that visit Bluewater every hour. For an express service, between 25 and 40 minutes, there’s the 700, 701, 703 or 704 routes.

Golf buggy car park service

We provide a golf buggy service all day to help you get from the car park to the main entrance.  If you would like to take advantage of this service just look out for the pick up points dotted around or speak to one of our friendly welcome hosts in the car park.

Car park welcome hosts

Our welcome hosts are there to help you with any issues you may have in the car park. From helping you unload your scooter to helping you to the entrance with an umbrella to just having a friendly chat they are there to help you. You can't miss them, they will be in bright yellow coats. If you need any help, just ask!

What time does the event start and finish?

The event opens at 9am and finishes at 4pm.

Can I bring my dog/pet?

How much does it cost to get in?

Our events are totally free to attend.

Do I have to book tickets?

There's no need to book tickets, simply turn up on the day.

Do I need to pre-book my test drive?

We do not offer the option to pre-book test drives. These are offered on a first come, first served basis. Take a look at our test drive section for more information.

I have lost the invitation I received in the post, do I need it?

If you received an invitation in the post and you have misplaced it, don't worry! You don't need it to get into the event and you can simply complete a new prize draw form if you want to enter the draw.

I am a company/organisation and want to inquire about exhibiting at your event, is this possible?

Exhibiting at our events is by invitation only, it is therefore not possible to request to become an exhibitor at any of our events.
