Tyres

We'll replace scooter or powered wheelchair tyres at no extra cost if they've been damaged through normal use, subject to our fair usage policy.

If you have air-filled tyres, this cover also includes puncture repairs.

While you're at home

If you notice tyre damage while you're at home, call your dealer and arrange a time for the repair.

The repair might happen at your home, or the dealer might need to take the product away with them for a short while.

While you're out and about

If you cannot get home, call Motability Assist on 0800 953 5000.

They'll arrange to get you and your scooter or powered wheelchair home and they'll repair the puncture, if possible.

If they cannot help, please call your dealer – they'll arrange the repair. Do not drive on a flat tyre if you can avoid it, as this will cause more damage.

While you're abroad

If you cannot wait until you get home to have your tyre repaired, please get it repaired locally and keep the receipt.

Contact us when you return and we might be able to reimburse your costs.

Batteries

Scooter and powered wheelchair batteries need regular charging to make sure they work properly.

Your product manual will tell you how to use your battery and charge it correctly.

Even when fully charged, the amount of power generated by the battery will vary according to its age, the type of ground you're travelling over and the weight the product is carrying.

If you have problems with your battery, contact your dealer and ask them to check it. If they find it's faulty, we'll make sure it's replaced for you as part of your worry-free package.

Tips for making the most of your battery life

  • When you first get your scooter or powered wheelchair, charge your battery fully before you use it
  • Charge your battery after every use – your product will work better if the battery is fully charged
  • It's important you do not charge your product for short periods of time, or leave it on to charge for more than 24 hours. If you can, choose a time when you know you won't use your product for around eight hours, like overnight
  • If you do not use your product for a long period of time, remember to charge it fully every two weeks
  • Only use the charger you get with your product
