The Motability Scheme helps eligible patients lease a car, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle, scooter or powered wheelchair using their mobility allowance. Only a third of eligible people have joined the Scheme. Some of your patients may not know they could apply.
Patients can use a qualifying mobility allowance to lease a new car, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAVWheelchair Accessible Vehicle), scooter or powered wheelchair. They can also add adaptations to help with driving, getting in and out, or storage.
To be eligible, customers must receive a qualifying mobility allowance or have at least 12 months left of a qualifying mobility allowance.
We receive payments direct from the patient’s allowance provider.
