Welcome to the Motability Scheme

The Motability Scheme provides an affordable, worry-free way for people with disabilities to lease a car, scooter or powered wheelchair in exchange for their mobility allowance. The Scheme is operated by Motability Operations Ltd, under contract to Motability, a registered Charity.

Your allowance type

To lease a car from Motability, you must receive one of the following allowances:

Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA).

Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP).

Mobility element of the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP). Please select ERMC PIP when making your allowance choice.

War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS).

Please note, cabriolets and convertibles are different names for the same type of car.

Motability is a national registered charity (No. 299745), incorporated the Royal Charter. It is responsible for directing and overseeing the Motability Scheme. Motability provides financial help to Scheme customers who would be unable to afford the mobility solution they need.
