What happens if my allowance stops?
If your allowance provider tells you that you're no longer eligible for your higher rate mobility allowance, please let us know.
Once you’ve told us, we’ll help you return your vehicle. You will not need to pay for your lease after you’ve given the vehicle back.
If you paid an Advance Payment, we might refund some of it on a pro-rata basis. But you will not be able to buy the vehicle.
As Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is replacing Disability Living Allowance (DLA), some people will not qualify for mobility support, or might get a lower rate. This could mean you’re no longer eligible for the Motability Scheme.
If that happens because of an unsuccessful reassessment from DLA to PIP, you might be able to get help through a support package.
