Cars search

Your allowance type

To lease a car from Motability, you must receive one of the following allowances:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA).
  • Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP).
  • Mobility element of the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP). Please select ERMC PIP when making your allowance choice.
  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS).

Weekly Rental

We have a range of cars which cost less than your higher rate mobility allowance. These cars are available to lease at a fixed weekly amount for the whole of your agreement.
The majority of cars require all of your mobility allowance. It includes any annual increases to your allowance over the course of your lease.

Advance Payment (£)

The Advance Payment is a one off amount payable to your dealer at the start of your lease.

Make and Model

Choose from a range of makes and models by using the relevant dropdowns. You can select multiple makes to compare. Models will be available to select only after you have chosen a make and will depend on the make(s) you have selected.

Car types

Choose the type of car that you think will be most suitable for your needs by using the dropdown. Multiple car types can be selected. The car types available for you to select will depend on any makes or models you have already selected.
Please note, cabriolets and convertibles are different names for the same type of car.

Transmission

We offer manual, automatic and semi-automatic vehicles. Cars classified as semi-automatic do not have a clutch pedal but the exact operation of the transmission will vary depending on the vehicle manufacturer - check with your dealer for more information.

Fuel type

Diesel cars are generally more fuel efficient, with lower CO2 emissions than petrol models, however, they may be more expensive than petrol models; other fuel technologies such as electric or hybrid vehicles may be even more environmentally friendly. Visit our fuel types page for more information.

Number of seats

Choose your preferred number of seats from the list below. You must select at least one option; multiple options can be selected. If you click de-select all and do not make a selection, then all available options will be presented.

Choose the number of doors that you think will be most suitable for your needs from the list below. You must select at least one option; multiple options can be selected. If you click de-select all and do not make a selection, then all available options will be presented. 2-3 door cars can generally have wider doors with larger opening angles, 4-5 door cars benefit from back seat passenger doors.

Average miles per gallon (MPG)

A measure of the car's fuel efficiency, the MPG figure will show you the average number of miles a car can travel for every gallon of fuel. These figures are for comparison purposes only. The actual MPG each car achieves will differ depending on your individual driving style and travel habits. Find out more about how mpg is calculated.

Please note that any figures quoted for VW Group vehicles within this Price Guide in relation to MPG for VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda models are provisional and are currently under review.

CO2 emissions (g/km)

Low emission models could save you money on fuel and are more environmentally friendly. You can use this dropdown to select a maximum CO2 emissions level.

Please note that any figures quoted for VW Group vehicles within this Price Guide in relation to CO2 for VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda models are provisional and are currently under review.

Engine size (litres)

Use these drop downs to select minimum and maximum engine size. Smaller engines will give you more miles to the gallon.

To allow the Scheme to remain affordable, drivers under 25 can only drive cars with an ABI Insurance Group of 16 or lower and with a power output of 120 brake horsepower (BHP) or less. Please select this option if you or your named driver is under 25.

If you need a 4 wheel drive use this check box to find a suitable vehicle for you. The term 4 wheel drive is usually used to describe vehicles designed for off-road use which generally have high ground clearance. More information can be found on our Types of Cars page

WAVs search

WAV types

Choose the type of WAV that you think will be most suitable for your needs by using the dropdown. WAVs can be classified by size - small, medium or large, as well as whether the wheelchair user is a driver of the vehicle. For more information visit the WAV section

Entry height (cm)

This measurement is the distance from the floor of the vehicle (where the ramp/lift joins) to the top of the door frame and includes a 50mm buffer.

Side or rear entry

This is whise the wheelchair user will access the vehicle from - think about whise you frequently park and the amount of space you will have at the rear or side of the vehicle.

Lift or Ramp access

Lifts are powered and generally cost more, but could be the better option if getting a wheelchair or scooter up a ramp is difficult. Ramps can be powered if the wheelchair user needs to operate it themselves or manual if a partner or carer can set this up.
