What do I do if my vehicle is accidentally or deliberately damaged?
Tell Direct Line Motability (DLM) about any damage as soon as you can.
You can report it in your Motability Scheme online account.
You can also call DLM:
- Cars and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVWheelchair Accessible Vehicles): 0300 037 3737
- Powered wheelchairs and scooters: 0800 294 0790
Lines are open 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm on Saturday.
Repairs for accidental damage are included in the insurance cover of your lease package. DLM will arrange any repairs through its approved repair network, so you cannot use your own repairer. Check your Direct Line Motability insruance cover booklet(opens in a new window) to see what is and is not covered.
You should still tell DLM if the damage looks minor. They’ll let you know if it needs to be repaired.
If the damage does need to be repaired, you might need to pay an excess. You can find details of the excess and when you need to pay it in your cover schedule or online account.
Damage inside your vehicle is only covered if it affects the vehicle’s safety, or happened during an incident that also damaged the outside of the vehicle. If it is not covered, speak to your dealer about getting it repaired.
