How bp pulse works

It’s a subscription to the UK’s largest public charging network. It’s ideal if you cannot get a home chargepoint.

How we'll support you

If it’s your first electric lease

If you’re leasing your first fully electric car on the Scheme and you cannot get a home chargepoint, we’ll give you a subscription to the bp pulse network. Some of these public chargepoints will give you better charging rates and some are free.

Getting your next electric car?

If you had bp pulse for your last lease, we’ll offer you this again. If you had a home chargepoint for your last vehicle, you will not be able to get a bp pulse subscription from us.

We'll also give you access to our Go with the Motability Scheme app

You'll also get Go with the Motability Scheme. Called 'Go' for short, you'll get exclusive access to our app. This lets you charge simply, at over 80,000 public chargepoints. You’ll never pay more than the chargepoint operator’s ‘pay as you go’ tariff.

Cannot find a bp pulse chargepoint?

You'll still get access to our Go with the Motability Scheme app, as part of your all-inclusive package. And you can use other public chargepoints. Or get a home chargepoint, if you have off-street parking, like a driveway or garage.

    Charging types and costs

    The legal bit

    Read our bp pulse terms
    • You might need to pay for your bp pulse subscription if you decide to continue this after your original three-year lease ends. Here’s how it works:
    • If your lease is extended for six months, we’ll give you a new bp pulse code, so you can continue your subscription free of charge for those six months. This is to support you, in case your next vehicle is delayed
    • If your lease is extended for longer than six months, you’ll need to pay for your bp pulse subscription after six months have passed, for the rest of your lease extension
    • For your second fully electric lease, we’ll give you another free of charge three-year subscription to the bp pulse network, even if this is after a lease extension
    • After your second fully electric lease, if you decide to continue your bp pulse subscription, you’ll need to pay for this yourself
