At the beginning of your lease
The Motability Scheme aims to provide you with worry-free motoring, so as a customer, we hope that you and your families are enjoying the freedom and independence that the Scheme brings. For more information about your car watch this quick film to help you make the most of your lease.
We're here to help and support you throughout your lease, so in case you’ve missed a few things, we’ve summarized a list of key points to remember.
1. Customer handbook
On collection of your new car, you would have received a copy of your customer handbook from your dealer, which includes all of the information that you need to know about your lease. If you’d also like an electronic copy of this, you can download it here Will download a resource(PDF 1MB) .
2. Requesting a V5c
A V5c is sometimes required for toll exemptions or parking permits. If you need a copy of your V5c, please complete the online form . Please note, this could take up to three weeks, as the DVLA need to send us the registration certificate.
3. Updating your details online
If any of your details change throughout your lease, you can update these on our website .
4. Useful contacts
Along with our Scheme partners, we’re here to support you throughout your lease. You can save some useful numbers to your phone in just a few seconds, by downloading the contacts .
5. Good condition bonus
If you return your car in good condition at the end of your lease, you could be eligible to receive our Good Condition Bonus. The amount you receive depends on the length of the agreement: it's currently £500 for a three-year lease. Find out more about the Good Condition Bonus .
6. Getting your next car
Three months before the end of your lease agreement, we will send you a letter to remind you that it is time to choose a new car on the Scheme. You can contact your dealer to start the process, or find a new dealer if you’d like to explore other options.
