What does my car or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Scheme package include?

You’ll get a brand-new vehicle, and a full package which includes:

Insurance
Servicing and maintenance
Full RAC breakdown assistance
Yearly tax
Three drivers, and you can change these whenever you like
Kwik Fit replacement tyres
Windscreen repair or replacement
Many adaptations at no extra cost
60,000 mileage allowance over three years, or 100,000 over five years for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (for orders placed before 1 July 2026)
30,000 mileage allowance over three years, or 50,000 over five years for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (for orders placed on or after 1 July 2026)*

*From 1 July 2026, the standard mileage for new vehicle leases on the Motability Scheme will be reduced. If you get your allowance from Social Security Scotland, this change will not apply to you from 1 July. We'll be in touch when we've confirmed a date with the Scottish Government. Read more.

When will you receive my first lease payment?

Your payments will start once you get your Scheme vehicle. We’ll receive these straight from your allowance provider, to make paying simple.

Can I get a vehicle and a scooter or powered wheelchair?

You cannot lease a car or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle and a scooter or powered wheelchair at the same time because you can only have one lease on the Scheme at a time.

Do I need to be in my vehicle while it's being used?

Your vehicle needs to be used by the disabled customer or for their benefit.

How many miles am I allowed to drive?

For orders placed before 1 July 2026, you can drive up to 60,000 miles over a three-year lease and 100,000 miles over a five-year lease. Orders placed on or after 1 July 2026 can drive 30,000 over three years or 50,000 over five years for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles. If you get your allowance from Social Security Scotland, this change will not affect you from 1 July 2026. We'll be in touch when we've confirmed a date with the Scottish Government.

Can I buy the vehicle at the end of my lease?

No, you're not able to buy the Motability Scheme vehicle at the end of your lease.
