Are there any limits to the Insurance Groups of a car I can apply for?
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) grade vehicles on a scale of 1 to 50. To ensure the Motability Scheme is affordable for all, drivers under the age of 25 may only drive cars with an ABI Insurance Group of 16 or lower and with a power output of 120 brake horsepower (BHP) or less. This does not apply to Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles.
In addition, only one named driver under 21 is permitted – this could be the disabled customer, or another driver living at the same address.
