How do I apply for a Charitable Grant?
To make initial enquiries about getting a grant from Motability, the Charity, please call the Motability Scheme's Customer Services on 0300 456 4566. They will be able to provide you with more information and if needed, refer you to the charity.
When you place an application for a charitable grant, it will be allocated to a case manager for consideration. During busy periods it may take a number of weeks for your application to be assigned to a Case Manager. Please wait for your Case Manager to contact you to update you on the status of your application.
To make the best use of their charitable funds, Motability award grants which are cost effective solutions based upon the individual disabled person’s mobility needs and not wants.
Using the information that you provide, your Case Manager will carefully consider your individual circumstances. Your grant award letter will include a list of suitable vehicles or vehicle categories that the charity is prepared to fund.
All grant applications are means-tested to ensure Motability supports those most in need of a charitable grant to ensure and they helps as many beneficiaries as possible with the charitable funds available.
Please note: Motability are not able to award a grant if you have already ordered your vehicle. This is because when you place an application for a grant, your Case Manager will consider your individual circumstances and confirm which vehicles the charity is prepared to fund based on your mobility needs, not wants.
Grants are awarded in line with Motability’s policies and following thorough consideration of the information submitted in the application. All grant awards are final except in cases where additional compelling information is provided. Applications that Motability considers do not meet their funding priorities will not receive grant funding.
