How do I charge with Motability Go Charge?

Once you’re set up in the app and you’ve added your payment details, here’s how to get started with Motability Go Charge.

You can also watch our videos on how to use the app, and charging and paying.

There’s no need to add money to your account before you charge, and we do not preload your card with any credit.

  • Tap on a pin. These represent chargepoints
  • You’ll see all the information you need about that chargepoint, like whether it’s available
  • Use the app’s navigation if you need help getting there
  • When you arrive, follow the instructions on the charging device
  • Plug your cable in, then either tap your Go Charge card on the card reader, or use the app
  • Keep and eye on how much you’re spending in the app, while you charge
  • Stop charging in the app, on the device or using your car’s features
  • Disconnect the cable

You’ll never pay more than the operator’s ‘pay as you go’ tariff, when you use Go Charge. The tariff you pay depends on the chargepoint operator and speed of the charger. You can see tariffs in the app.

You’ll pay for the energy you used straight from the payment details you added to your app.

This usually happens within 24 hours but can take up to 48 hours. You can see your charge history in your app too.
