At the beginning of your lease

The Motability Scheme aims to provide you with worry-free mobility, so as a customer, we hope you are enjoying the everyday freedom and independence that the Scheme brings. For more information about your scooter or powered wheelchair, and what’s included in your lease, watch this quick film.

Helpful information

We're here to help and support you throughout your lease, so in case you’ve missed a few things, we’ve summarized a list of key points to remember.

1. Customer handbook

When you take delivery of your new scooter or powered wheelchair, your dealer will give you a welcome pack which includes your customer handbook. 2. Your dealer

Your dealer is your first point of contact for any issues with your scooter or powered wheelchair during your lease. They will organise any repairs you may need and arrange your annual service .

3. Breakdown recovery

If you break down, contact Motability Assist on 0800 953 5000. Alternatively, you can download the ‘Motability Recovery’ smartphone app to help you if your scooter or powered wheelchair breaks down. The app is available from the Google Play Store for Android phones or from the App Store for Apple phones.

4. Updating your details online

If any of your details change throughout your lease, you can update these using our update details form .

5. Useful contacts

Along with our Scheme partners, we’re here to support you throughout your lease. You can save some useful numbers to your phone in just a few seconds by downloading the emergency contacts .

6. Getting your next scooter or powered wheelchair

Three months before the end of your lease agreement, we will send you a letter to remind you that it is time to choose a new scooter or powered wheelchair on the Scheme. You can contact your current dealer to start the process, or find a new dealer if you’d like to explore other options. You’ll also be eligible for a £100 End of Contract Bonus when your lease finishes.
