Getting your next product
As your existing lease comes to an end, it's time to start thinking about which Motability Scheme product might suit your needs for the next few years. We've got a choice of more than 400 scooters and powered wheelchairs.

Motability Scheme leases generally run for three years from the date that you took delivery of your product. This date will be shown on your lease agreement. Three months before the end of your lease agreement, we will send you a letter to remind you that it is time to choose a new product on the Scheme.
You will need to have at least 12 months remaining on your qualifying allowance to order a new scooter or powered wheelchair. If you have less than 12 months remaining when it’s time to place a new application, or you would prefer to wait until you have confirmation of your new award, we will be able to extend your current lease.
You will probably find it useful to gather as much information as possible on which product might now suit your needs. Start by talking to different dealers and getting lots of advice – use the Find a dealer tool to find an expert near you. It's also worth having a new home assessment, in case your needs or home environment have changed, and of course test drive some products too.
Once you've selected your new product, your Motability dealer will place the order for you and arrange to deliver your next product at the same time as taking away your old one, so you don't have to worry about being left without a scooter or powered wheelchair to get around. Your dealer will keep you updated on delivery dates, if there are any delays, you'll be able to extend the lease on your current product until your new one is ready.
