WAV stands for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle. This means you can travel in the vehicle while seat in your wheelchair

What happens if I'm appealing an unsuccessful PIP reassessment?

If your reassessment is unsuccessful, you can still keep your vehicle for eight weeks after your Disability Living Allowance (DLA) payments stop.

You do not need to make any lease payments once your DLA payments stop.

If you joined the Motability Scheme before 1 January 2014

You can keep the car for 26 weeks, but your transitional payments will be less.

If you’re appealing and you get the higher rate mobility part of PIP later

You might get a backdated payment from the DWP.

If this payment covers the time when you still had your Scheme vehicle, we might ask you to repay us for this period, if you want to rejoin or stay on the Scheme.
