What are the timescales for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) reassessments?
PIP was introduced in Great Britain in April 2013 and in Northern Ireland in 2016. Since then, the DWP (or Department for Communities in Northern Ireland) have gradually been contacting affected DLA recipients informing them that their DLA is due to end and explaining how they can apply for PIP.
The process is now complete in Northern Ireland but is still ongoing across the rest of the UK.
You don’t need to do anything else until the DWP writes to you, however, once they have contacted you, make sure you respond within their given timescales.
Please note that in Scotland, PIP is now being replaced with Adult Disability Payment which will be administered by Social Security Scotland rather than the DWP.
