WAV stands for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle. This means you can travel in the vehicle while seat in your wheelchair

Order your vehicle

Visit a dealer or contact a supplier

Once you’re ready, visit a dealer if you’re looking for a car, scooter or powered wheelchair, and they’ll help you order.

If you’re searching for a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle supplier or adaptations installer, do not worry about how far away they are. They’ll come to you, then they’ll help you order.

You need to be there to place the order, unless you have an appointee to represent you.

Start applying online

With most vehicles, you can start applying in your Motability Scheme online account. This gives you more time to choose the right vehicle for you.

You could get a £750 New Vehicle Payment

If you’re joining the Scheme for the first time and you order your first vehicle before the end of 2024, you’ll receive this after you collect your new vehicle.

Or, you can choose to send this directly to your dealer to help towards your Advance Payment.

If you order a scooter or powered wheelchair, you’ll receive a New Product Payment instead.

You can only get this payment once.
