Order your vehicle

Once you’re ready to order, you might go to a dealer, or a supplier might come to you, depending on the vehicle you’re looking for.

Visit a dealer or contact a supplier

Once you’re ready, visit a dealer if you’re looking for a car, scooter or powered wheelchair, and they’ll help you order.

If you’re searching for a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle supplier or adaptations installer, don’t worry about how far away they are – they’ll come to you, then they’ll help you order.

What you need to bring or have with you

  • Certificate of entitlement – this is your award letter from your allowance provider. It says which allowance you have and how long it’s for – it needs to show you have at least 12 months left
  • Driver fair processing declaration form – if you get a car or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle, if your named driver cannot be with you, they need to complete this form first. This lets us check the details of your nominated drivers with the DVLA
  • Grant details – if you’ve been awarded a grant from Motability, the charity
  • Proof of your address – a recent bill or bank statement for every named driver
  • Your driving licences – if you get a car or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle), a driving licence for every named driver, and any details of previous accidents or driving convictions

Please make sure your address matches on all of the documents you give us.

You need to be there to place the order yourself, unless you have an appointee to represent you.

You could get a £250 New Vehicle Payment

If you’re joining the Scheme for the first time and you order your first vehicle during 2022, you’ll receive this after you collect your new vehicle.

If you order a scooter or powered wheelchair, you’ll receive a £100 New Product Payment instead.

You can only get this payment once.
