Motability Go Charge

Get access to more than 45,000 chargepoints, all in one place.

We want to help you make the most of your electric car on the Motability Scheme.

We’re delighted to introduce a new way to help you charge on the go, Motability Go Charge.

What is Motability Go Charge?

Called ‘Go Charge’ for short, it’s a new electric car card and app we created with our partner, Paua. You can use them to charge your electric car on the go.

You’ll get this as part of your worry-free package when you get a new electric car on the Scheme. Your dealer will ask you when you apply. Just let them know you want this. We’ll then send you a welcome pack in the post around the time you collect your car.

How it works

You’ll have access to over 45,000 public chargers(opens in a new window) from over 20 different chargepoint operators.

These include: GRIDSERVE, Source London, ChargePlace Scotland, ESB, Geniepoint, Shell Recharge, Osprey and many more, all in one app.

That’s over half of all chargepoints in the UK, including 70% of all rapid chargepoints. And we’re always adding more operators.

It’s completely free to get the card and app, and there are no monthly subscription fees.

There’s no need to add money to your account before you charge, and we do not preload your card with any credit. You’ll just need to pay for the energy you use, straight from the payment details you added when you registered your account in the app.

We do not offer discounted charging at the moment, but you’ll never pay more than the operator’s ‘pay as you go’ tariff, when you use Go Charge. The tariff you pay depends on the chargepoint operator and speed of the charger. You can see tariffs in the app.
