    What is Child Disability Payment?

Child Disability Payment has been introduced by Social Security Scotland, who have taken over responsibility for disability assistance payments from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for people living in Scotland.

Child Disability Payment will eventually replace Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children living in Scotland aged 3 months to 18 years old. As of 26 July 2021, the Higher Rate Mobility Component of this allowance is £62.55 per week and can be used to lease a vehicle through the Accessible Vehicle and Equipment Scheme, for which the Motability Scheme is an accredited supplier.
