On Saturday 20 October we are completing planned system maintenance, therefore our Customer Services team will have limited system access and may not be able to fully complete all requests during this time. We are happy for you to call us, but you may find the answer to your question here or if your enquiry is about insurance or breakdown, please contact our Scheme partners directly.

PIP was introduced in Great Britain in April 2013. Since then, the DWP have gradually been contacting affected DLA recipients informing them that their DLA is due to end and explaining how they can apply for PIP.

PIP was introduced in Northern Ireland on 20 June 2016 for new claimants, existing DLA recipients whose fixed term award of DLA is due to end and anyone who reports a change in their needs. Since December 2016 the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland have also started to contact DLA recipients with an ‘indefinite’ or ‘lifetime’ award.

The process is expected to be complete by 2019.

You don’t need to do anything else until the DWP (or Department for Communities in Northern Ireland) writes to you, however, once they have contacted you, make sure you respond within their given timescales.
